This blog is about my experiences as a bird watcher (mostly). I hang out at a place call Heron Haven in Omaha Nebraska. Unless I say otherwise, the location of what I am talking about can be assumed to be Heron Haven.<br /><br />About Heron Haven. Heron Haven is located at 11809 Old Maple Road, Omaha, Ne, 68164. It is a 25 acre wetland, sanctuary, and educational center. There is a trail that leads to a boardwalk over the wetland and another trial that leads to an observation blind. Painted turtles, snapping turtles, frogs, dragonflys, birds, deer, groundhogs, skunks, muskrats, raccoon, fox, and mink have been seen there by yours truly in the past year and a half. There is also an education center with exhibits, butterfly garden, native grass display garden and a mushroom garden is in the works. The trail is open from dawn to dusk and the public is invited. Come see for yourself some time.<br /><br />I am new to blogging so here is my plan. Add photos of the wildlife I take and keep track of the different birds I see. I'll try to update several times a week.
